A Bismarck, North Dakota woman has filed a lawsuit because she is worried about her implanted defibrillator having problems. She is suiting the company that made it.
That company happens to be embattled Medtronic Inc. Winnifred Leverson is seeking a class action lawsuit and filed in a federal district court.
The leads about which Ms. Leverson is concerned are none other than the SprintFidelis leads that were recalled in October following reports that show the leads were breaking a lot more often than expected. Five deaths, so far, have been tied to the leads breaking. The lawsuit claims negligence and emotional distress. Ms. Leverson is seeking restitution and medical monitoring from Medtronic.
If you or someone you know has been implanted with a Medtronic Defibrillator since 2004, it may have SprintFidelis leads that may break. If this is true, there may be legal options available, even if your leads have not broken. Contact the Medtronic Lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher at 1-866-950-9000 to discuss your legal options and to schedule an initial consultation.
