When Medtronic announced the recall of their Sprint Fidelis leads, UPS set up operations at the Puerto Rico manufacturing plant which allowed them to meet the suddenly high demand for older lead types.
By utilizing the overnight shipping options of UPS, Medtronic was able to send out its older leads directly to their clients in order to maximize their ability to meet the needs of customers everywhere. The firm previously said it was capable of meeting demand.
Medtronic is in the process of releasing a new single-coil Quattro lead similar to the Fidelis leads in the first quarter of fiscal year 2009. The firm says not having a single-coil lead is hurting sales.
