Mild Heart-Failure Patients Receive Little Benefit from CRT Devices

April 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

A new study shows that patients given CRT medical devices do not receive  much benefit from the devices.

CRT Devices, Cardiovascular Resynchronization Therapy, do not help significantly in people who are afflicted with mild heart failure. The study was conducted by Medtronic and other device makers in an effort to expand their potential patient market.

While the study found that individuals given a CRT device did not receive much benefit, the study did show some improvement in condition for individuals. This was seen particularly in people who had enlarged hearts. Changing the way the data was sliced also showed better results for those favoring the expansion of the market for CRT devices.
