Plano, TX - A high school in North Texas recently received an AED, or automated external defibrillator, from the Texas Health Resources through their “Gift from the Heart” program. The program is an initiative to save lives by providing AED’s to 51 low-income schools in 20 school districts throughout North Texas.
Texas Health is one of the largest faith based, non-profit health care systems in the country.
Nearly 7,000 children and teens die of sudden cardiac arrest each year. AED’s send a shock to the victim’s heart to help resuscitate a heart beat.
